Lodi Launch PIP 2 days EARLY!!!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Mother Bird reporting on Catscan's vacation hatch.

I have PIPS and I'm so jazzed. I repeat.. PIPS in both hatchers! This hatcher has 15 Fayoumi and 5 Penedesenca One Fayoumi pipped.

How can I shop? How can I cook? What's a Mother Bird to do but jump up and down and squeel telling the babiez to come out and see me! I tap on the glass and they peep! Who could leave THAT?

Foley, MO

Aww, maybe I should hatch next year. Everyone always gets soooo excited. I bet it's a real fun experience. Enjoy the babies : )

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Is it normal for them to take a breather ZZ? (person with no domestic feathered creatures sopping up knowledge like a sponge here).

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Well.. I'm under the impression that when they pip.. it's usually at least 4 hours before they start to do anything... and it could be MUCH longer.
I'm not experienced enough to really know all that much.. but I know danger signs..
I'm worried about the one that zipped and stopped..

Now we are 5 for 5.. pips and 1 and a half zips

Patchouli.. it is amazing. I didn't have any clue how much I'd like it.. but it's just amazing.. There is a HUGE process going on inside when that first lil crack shows up.. that triggers a lot of stuff.. I would recommend to anyone who can possibly do it..

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Thanks ZZ for taking the time to explain it to me. I'm soooo looking forward to Holiday peepers ^_^

Foley, MO

Oh ZZ! Now my curiosity is soooo peeking. I wonder how little I could get away with spending on an incubator? (Wheels grinding in noggin). I am egg-cited for ya!

I do hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas... I wish I could have you ALL over for dinner! I chose to spend my Christmas morning here with my peeps and DGrz my favorite place. :)

Sugar Valley, GA(Zone 7b)

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!!!

Congrats ZZ !!!! and Patch.. I saw a still air incubator at a farm store in Indiana Tuesday that was only $50...Looks like maybe 18 eggs?? It was on the top shelf so I couldn't look real good at it and I was waiting for a patient, and didn't have time to ask the salesperson to get it down for me...

Oh gosh, I'm sorry Patchouli.. I was taken up in my own world here and didn't respond.. I'm sorry!

You can get a Little Giant incubator for around $100. with the automatic turner.. I recommend the most important investment being a good thermometer! That has been my worst problem... there are a lot of thermometers, but when you put more than one in a bator, you get different readings... I've even used one they sell in the baby department and still not be accurate!

Anyway.. read read read and you will be hatching too.. it's soooo exciting and sooo much fun! Beware.. it's also addicting.. :) Not that I would know anything about that part. HeHEHE

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Very well could be Sewin! They are trying to infiltrate the goggles... the sussex jump in my hand.. they are using top secret maneuvers to sway the surrogate into putting them into hiding...

5 bumbling Sussex... 2 more pips..

1 Bumbling Baby Fayoumi with 7 pips, 2 of which have zipped..

over

Lodi, United States

Sussex! Sussex! and Fayoumis! I am overcome! Thank you so much ZZ!

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

I have been undercover for most of the day.
Keep an eye on them and trust none!
We need to speak code around them...as to not give away anymore of our secrets.
Act natural! (whistling and looking at the ceiling)
Dont let the bumbling fool you...they are capable of much.
They have already stolen my heart! I want it back! (pouty face)

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

6 Bumbling Sussex babiez... 2 pips, 1 of them zipping
3 Bumbling Fayoumi Babiez, 6 pips, 2 of those zipping

This is the best Christmas present ever!

(Not to mention my new battery pack skill saw!)
