Ed, It is more likely from Holland or India.

That kind of Clivia is called a Belgian Hybrid, probably the first hybrids of that type came from growers there or they got the credit for making that cross.

Most Clivia that we buy here in the US are grown in India, very inexpensive when bought in bulk. They sell us hundreds of thousands of them every year.

In California and Florida they are used as a landscape plant. A 3 gallon size plant wholesales for about $15,
