The last time I talked to you, I just started misting every other day, when I watered, I am just about the last house before you get to the wildlife refuge, so I'm guessing that that's where they're coming from, cause in recent years they are not seen where there are autos and such, that one is about 15 feet up in a Live Oak tree, the close up was taken with 12x telephoto, Ed

you are sooo lucky! I haven't been able to get many Tillandsias as yet, and will have to do some research to find a good supplier. They can be fairly expensive for such little things, as most of them appear to be.
So how many do you think you have around your yard Ed?

Oak Hill, FL(Zone 9b)

About 5 four inches across, and about 60 two inches across, and about 50 1 or so inches across, I will take some more photos today, Ed

Hi Sue, I woyuld be happy to ship you some of them, at no charge but shipping cost, if you can figure out how to get through customs, I have been warned by Aus. customs trying to send Trichocereus Peruvianus cuttings ( Peruvian Torch cactus ), Ed

Yes, they are extremely feirce when trying to protect the environment and ecology from unwanted pest/disease. I think alot of nasties here have been introduced through international trade over the years. If I can find a Ligit way, I would certainly take you up on your kind offer.
Oh yeah, Merry xmas and all that!

Edric,
What cool photos. I have been watching this and other threads on air plants. I would like to know if have you seen any of the large ones blooming yet?. I have a few tillandsias that I ordered, but they were so small plus with the shipping, I wonder if it was worth it. Wonder how long it would take to have a tiny one the size of about 2 inches to get as large as one of those on your tree.

You need to mis it with spring water, but without a greenhouse, and good ventilation, it willnot grow to fast, you must also provide some light, in N, in winter, if you have it indoors they hate the dry air, mist it every six hours or so, put it near flourescent light, or an energy saving bulb is fairly high blue green spectrum, it will help, put a very tiny amount of plant food in the spray bottle, Ed

Thank you for the information. I keep looking at those photos of the large air plants in the trees, just lovely.
I will see what happens since I do have mine indoors under a light. I will make some changes very soon.
