Yay! I looke forward to this day as much as Christmas. Tomorrow I get FIVE more minutes daylight and that means we are heading back towards summer and the gardens.
We used to have a big party with a bonfire on the solstis. The first year we were here, we had our party as usual and invided old and new friends. We were all outside lighting the fire and tossing in herbs from last years garden and making wishes for the next year when one of the guests looked towards our neighbors house. She got a horrified look on her face and said "Is that man NAKED?"
I looked and sure enough, he was.
It was our elderly neighbour, who is a bit of a drinker. He had staggered out to the deck and urinated over the rail. He stood there a moment, scratched his fanny and waved to my horrified guests before returning to the house.
I told them to think of him like the ground hog, if he passes out in the snow it will be a looong winter.
Now when we have the party we all wait for him to appear. He rarely dissapoints.

well we have snow here but not like they do in Seattle the bosses wife is there viseting the new grand babie and can't get home till Christmas night she and the kids were suppose to come home last night !!! boss is realy bummed he has to do the Christmas thing and have it all ready be for she gets here and hes pretty much clueless ;0) have a great day stay warm

I don't know the day! just figured it would be during the week like the last one, I'm working with the tools this year, had to scale back and ride the wave for a while. Down to just two employees. Hope the economy picks up, I have a expensive hobby I need to supplement. (gardening). Thank god for co-ops. You should stay over it's a long drive for you guys. And besides that we can party a little longer. If Stacey has it on a Saturday I would most likely be able to attend. I didn't order any plants though.
