Oh Makshi-- I have so been there--just a couple months or so ago... we ended up having to buy a used fridge, couldn't afford a new one!! Getting it delivered up on the side of this mountain was a whole 'nother adventure!!

For me it was a call to a repairman. He replaced the switch on the compressor for $35, his fee was $75...

We cooked all the things 'till they were almost done and then froze them. 4th of July celebration/reunion saved!

A repairman IS a good idea-- for us tho-- we had bought the "old" fridge new 18 years ago-- so kinda figured it was a goner.
edited to add-- the week before the fridge died-- lightning "killed" all the electrical components on our stove, also took out the satellite, and the week before THAT-it was the hot water heater... Hang in there Makshi!!

I know there are many with far worse problems. It will all work out somehow. Thank you all for the good thoughts.

There is always "someone" with worse problems "somewhere". Let us know how you make out with the solutions ^_^
