Sending all of you best wishes for very happy holidays. Thank you for letting me share your gardens. It really has been a privilege to see and learn from you. I have made many valued friendships here. This forum is a special place of thoughtful, if not hotly debating people.
Gardenmart, you're tugging at my heartstrings...Smithie Mom, 07.
Thanks to all of you who have let an interloper share your forum this past year.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season. May all our gardens be green, weed-free and productive in the upcoming year! :-)

And may all our daylilies spontaneously rebloom!
. . . and may all the deer, rabbit, moles, and woodchucks stay far away!
Candyce, what a picture!!!!
Thanks, Carrie. It's another photo from the ones that Sammi took of the ice storm. I really admire her talent when it comes to the composition of the photos. She's just 16, but she's got a great 'eye'.
Glad you are back online for real with us, Candyce, for now.
Candyce..............Anyone at sixteen with a composition eye like that should be at least in the local photography club if one exists. She should begin to submit to photography contests and she should snoop around to see if a local professional might take her hand and lead her to possible income from those pictures. You should check out the photographer for your comfort too.
She says .... 'Yeah! I'd like that!"
She's very happy that you all like her photos, and she wants to challenge Victor.
Now we know that Sammi is not only a very nice and personable young lady.....she is also a very talented photographer!! Nice to see a 16-yr-old with so much going for her...makes you think she was brought up well, hmmmmm?
Tell her she is very good and I am looking over my shoulder!! Given her age, it's quite impressive.
A terrific shot. All of them were and I agree she should check out local photo clubs. There is definitely a young artists eye waiting to break out and do some great things.
I think it's amazing how some people, like me, see "oh, darn, another snowy day" and others see amazing potential photographs.
Well, it's december 22, my fake tree is up, but not decorated, my car is 1/5 up the driveway {not bad having to be pushed out of a snow drift on the way up} and I have the Christmas roast beast. I am not sure if I am going to get much more shopping done since I can only get my car, with assistance, 1/5 of the way up the driveway. did I mention that I hate snow?
You can have mine, Santa.

I had a sip of coffee in my mouth and just about spit it out when I read...
and she wants to challenge Victor. ROTFL. Good for Sammi. She is ambitious and yes, she does have a good eye. Great ideas about having a photographer take her under wing. Looking forward to more from her.
It is a beautiful picture!
I was tired when i wrote my last post. Rested now, had Christmas Cheer at the company Christmas party last night and I feel ever so much better!
The sand truck has been by and the snow is breaking up on the street. So we should be having a better driving day today!
Merry Christmas everyone!

It is icy in Bridgeport! I have taken to picking my neighbor's newspaper off his walk and bringing it to his door. He is nearing 90 and if he slipped and fell . . . It is so cold that I have brought the "front porch cat" into the spare bedroom. He wants to run free in the house with the other cats. He got loose Wednesday morning making me late to work taking time to capture him in the crawl space. Just in time too - Wallingford and Sampson Tunderpaws were ready to pounce and there was Meeyow (FPC) laying on his back trying to be friends. I left in his room while I am at work today. I hope the welded wire holds him in - there could be a bloody mess if they all got together. Not to mention a HUGE vet bill.
Oh, AYC! You are such a good friend to everyone! How sweet to help out your neighbor by getting his newspaper for him. And, another fur friend has been 'rescued' from the wind and weather. You truly are a gem!
Now my DDs and DH are all home and everybody is getting along and making cookies. I'm ready to say Merry Christmas and did you notice that we're getting a little more light each day now? Roast Beast is for tomorrow, after we sing at church. Season's Greetings to all my Northeast Forum friends.
