if anyone out there has used 5 gal. buckets that once contained chemicals, without any issues, please let me know.
bucket question
angiegr: I have these buckets, they are used laundry detergent buckets, that someone else used to transport sand in. I have cleaned them out and had holes drilled in them, as I plan on using them as hanging baskets for my veggies this Spring/Summer, I don't expect I will have any problems though. I try and buy my laundry detergent at Sam's in the pail and save the pails, I have about 5 of them.

that is a smart idea.....i'm not worried about the containers anymore, i'll clean 'em and they'll b fine....

Angie: Most dishwashing detergents have anitbacterials in them nowadays and maybe if you line the bucket with coffee filters? That might put your mind at ease a little? I line all my buckets and pails after washing them anyways.
