I hope this comes thru big enough to read, it's for dummies like me that can't add 19 days to the day that the first egg is laid.( sometimes they will hatch on thr 18th day)>>>>>>>John

Is there something like that for chickens?--I live in fear of leaving my eggs too long with the egg turner on.

for chicken eggs u start counting 24 hours after in the bator set as day 1. on day 18 i move to the hatcher in the second GQF it has the higher humidity for the last 3 days and they hatch day 20-21 but suppost to hatch on 21. if u use same bator as hatcher on day 18 stop turning and remove turner and up the humidity that day and on day 21 they r to hatch. only chicken eggs different r seramas they hatch on 19 days not 21 so for them it would change on day 16 stead of 18.

Hi, silkiechick! My little Nankins, Dutch Bantams and Sebrights all hatched a day early too.

For chickens I use days and try not to count -they go in Tuesday evening and then I count three Wednesdays down the calendar to mark hatch day. The Sunday evening before hatch day I up the humidity and mark my calendar "DO NOT TOUCH EGGS" -now if I had to know anything but multiples of seven...

I have a regular calender that I write the initial and day # on. Today says T-6 and SS-6
That way, I also have records of when they were hatched and when the eggs got here..

Good! I vote YOU be the Official Hatcher!!

Oh, sure! It sounds easy when you only have a few hatches that all started at the same time and in one incubator....but when you have lost all reason and are starting eggs like a dope-fiend in a pharmacy popping pills....wait, have I divulged too much?

Clarkson, KY

It was common knowledge -no harm, no foul!!

Fowl? Where? Where?

You're sitting on any number!! Who's keeping count?

Not me, baby. I am free falling.

DH has been observed with pencil, pad and calculator, however.

I never liked that man.

Come to Mamma, chickies dear.......
