I have some of this neat ginger to trade. This is a zone 10B plant. It needs Miami-like warmth for outdoors, or a warm greenhouse ( min temps about 50-55). It can be pot grown and wintered inside, but, in order for it to bloom sooner rather than later, it needs space to develop larger diameter taller (8-10 ft) canes. If you don't mind not getting blooms for a while, the foliage is worth it. COmmonly called Bamboo Ginger for the bamboo look on the stems (the plant loses bottom leaves as it matures, giving it a bamboo look) and Snake Ginger for the basilar red inflos that look like snake heads, this ginger is endangered in its native habitat (Costa Rica) due to habitat loss.
Cannot send to AZ, CA, TX, HI or LA.
Will only consider other tropicals for trade. Uncommon philodendrons or anthuriums, uncommon ROOTED hoyas (like megalaster, archboldiana, lasiantha/praetoria, mindorensis, etc orchids, rhaphidophoras, 'jewel' alocasias, along that line.
Here is a photo of my mature plant in bloom:

If a trade agreement can be reached, its okay with me to either send now, or wait for Spring.
Have: Costus stenophyllus
