On Thursday of this past week, my little Chi, Huberta was diagnosed with early signs of congestive heart failure and kidney issues. The jury is still out on the latter. She takes lasix, vetmedin, and enalapril. She is on a raw diet, and I have been giving her an immunity booster for the last 3 months. My other little Chi/J.R. was diagnosed with the same thing about 3 months ago, and is on the same diet as Hubie but only takes enalapril and the immunity booster.
She began taking the meds on Thursday night, since then her appetite has diminished, she drinks water constantly (her intake of fluid prior to the meds was normal) and of course goes out more frequently. She is also vomiting once or twice a day. A clear to yellow fluid.
I am going to call the vet in the morning and take her back in - I feel like the meds are making her worse. I know she needs to get rid of the fluid and something to help her heart not work so hard - but I am unsure about the vetmedin.
Hubie is a fighter, and this thing is kicking her butt. I cannot pill her and she won't eat so I cannot get the meds in her.
Need some and input and support this a.m.
Thanks
Melissa
