few blooms form MNE
Hi okijaner, You have some gorgeous blooms there, are you close to the sea? Tahitian Princess has been on my wish list for a long time.
Thanks for sharing your pictures with us.
Dave
hello Dave,my house is 100 m far from sea,or near,as you wish..I start with colecting hibiscus only two year ago :-)
welcome. I really like your wild blueberry :)
Thank you Cat,I look at climate map,I also live in climate zona 9,at some procected corners of bay 10,did you put your hibiscus in greenhouse at winter?
Here temperature rare go belov 0,only for one or two night during winter, and than never below -2 ,but we have strong north winds, because bay I live in have big montains in back...so plants like hibs, must be protekted by green house,or some big wall ;-)

Beautiful Blossoms and pictures of your Country!
thank you arejay59 :-)
Oh my goodness what beautiful pictures. Im sorry to sound ignorant, but where is Montenegro? Those pictures are startlingly beautiful.
Yugoslavia!! I wouldnt have even been close had I guessed....I was thinking South America. I didnt realize it was so beautiful there...funny how one has a vision of a country because of the news and media.
Thank you Fla_Chick for saving me from getting out the Atlas. I was thinking Asia from the first pictures. Thank you okijaner for the stunning photos and the geography lesson! Well worth getting out of bed this morning! I am in zone 3 (sometimes up to 4 and the odd zone 5 will survive the winter) so my hibiscus come in the house for the winter. They go through a pout phase where I don't get blooms (because I don't transition them in and out, it's just hosed off and inside when it gets really cold out. I have so many plants that I don't have time to baby them at the end of the season) but soon they perk up and start budding again. They adapt extremely well, because I've never lost one from the abrupt move.
hello Buttercup13..thank you for nice words for my bay,yes It is realy beautifull live ih place like this..never snow..bit lot of rain at winter months..
You say your hibs never died,it is for your strong wish and love to make them grow :-)
You see Fla-chirk how media can dictate peoples visions?!
Here on Montenegro,we do not had war during years of crises on Balkan, and many refugis find home here even this country it is wery small, but multi nacional .

Your country is lovely! Flachick, I didn't know where it was either - but obviously, you grow some beautiful hibiscus there!!
Okijaner, How beautiful your home country is!
I would have never thought there were parts of Montenegro that were sub tropical or zone 9. I am embarrased to admit I did not know Montenegro was formerly Yugoslavia. If my grandchildren needed help with a geography lesson I doubt I could be of assistance; so many of the countries I studied about more than 50 years ago have new names.
well, here we should have history lesion, but I do not bother you..montenegro is wery old state..but trought history it lost independens for almoust 100 years..but now we get it back, tought democratic electon..peple wote for geting back indipendence..
i wish mery christmas to all..and tomorow I will put new pict of blooms :-)
Oki, those pictures are beautiful, I especially love the first one.
Merry Christmas to everyone!
thank you Fla ;-)
My ex fiance was born and grew up in slovania. Also a part of Yugoslavia, if I am recalling right.
It rarely gets below 30 degrees in the winer, so my plants are not in greenhouses. They have survived in 27 degrees, but made me a nervous wreck, lol. But, that is the very coldest i would allow them to stay outside.
I wrap all my Christmas lights around the roots and when it gets below 40, I turn them on the keep the roots warm.
It's also pretty colorful when the lights are on, lol.
I love the Christmas light idea clever.
Your blooms are gorgeous okijaner! Just goes to show that a true Hibiscus lover will find a way to grow these beautiful plants. Wonderful photos, thank you for sharing.
