I have about 70 brug cuttings rooted and potted up in NZ Spahgnum moss in little red cups... and still have about 20 more to go... Thank you all generous donors of such wonderful and healthy cuttings... Hubby has said we will definitely have to plow up the lower 40 if this keeps up... I ran out of Spahgnum moss, so ordered more... and now with Christmas and lots of church activities keeping me hopping, I just don't get on the computer as much... but I must get in here and get caught up with all my wonderful new Brug buddies..
Stay warm and safe my friends
Carolyn
Almost done potting em up...
Carolyn, you are farther north than I am and I'm freezing. You need to stay warm and safe too! I'm potting up the cuttings I bought through the coop, as well as the cuttings I received from Gordon, into potting mix and placing them in the greenhouse. Even though the thermostat is set to 50ºF, by the time the heater comes on and heat is circulating, the temperature has dropped to almost 45º in there. I need my kitchen table back.
Whew, taking a break from baking.. I have lots of cookies to bake for various church activities... and also have to bake a coconut pie for tomorrows Christmas dinner at church... and also for the Nursing home ministry... So far, I have 8 dozen made and have a pound cake in the oven for my hubbster... He wanted a multi flavor pound cake.. so he gets what he wants.. lol
My brug forest is doing well.. but sure looks like the dog knocked all the chairs over on the rear deck.. lol This photo shows part of the plants I have potted up... They all look quite good.. today is watering day for them... as some are showing some faint signs of wilting..
This sure is going to be one huge brug summer for us ... thanks to such generous folks here...
God Bless You all.
It's looking real good there Carolyn... and who says good deeds go unrewarded
But Gordon, I haven't done anything to deserve such a wonderful little brug forest.. It seems like only one out of a bazillion did not make it so far.. I was hoping for about 50% for a newbie like myself... but this is beyond comprehension... Hubby says we better buy the 12 acres ajoining us... lol
Looks like we are starting a brug farm.. ohhhhhhhhh myyyyyyyyy...
I can't wait to see a photo of them blooming! I have a good 12 cuttings and I killed 2.
