Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Your Butternut doesn't look like mine..............let me take a photo and see........you always have the most unusual plants. I have never heard of Johannes but she is takes your breath away, Goldleaf!

I can't get my Butternut to grow.....she is just sitting there taking up space.
Here she is.

I Just found an episcia I didn't even know I had...........amazing what negligence can do for a plant of mine.
Here is Jim's Porcelain Doll

Frederick, MD(Zone 7a)

That's not Butternut, Gail. I love Jim's Porcelain Doll. I'll tell you, It looks almost if not exactly like one I have called Jim's Anna. Very close indeed. Maybe compared side by side in person, one could see a difference.

phoebesviolets ^_^

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Guess what.............that plant is from Lyndon Lyons..........I am going back to his site and look ........

(Zone 1)

Oh my goodness .... look at all the gorgeous Episcia's!! Love them all!

GoldLeaf, your plants are really wonderful, especially 'Johannes'. What color are the blooms on that one? It seems most Episcia's seem to have the orangy color flowers, but with the beautiful and colorful foliage I wouldn't really care about blooms! Cleopatra is one of my fav's with all that pink in the foliage, really really pretty!

Gail, how come you can ignore yours and they look so wonderful? I have ignored mine and they all got long and gangly and now all are almost totally dead. guess i ignored them a little too much, huh? Whether that first one is Butternut or Jim's Anna, I love that dark foliage!

Great growing everyone!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I just sent the picture to Lyndon Lyons............this will be the third time they have done something like this.........I still think they are the best.........

Frederick, MD(Zone 7a)

Lin..the blossoms on Johannes are the usual.

(Zone 1)

It sure is pretty foliage. I wonder how many Episcia's have yellow blooms? I know of Suomi but I wonder if there are many others? Most seem to have the orange/red flowers. I was googling a few days ago and read about one that has bluish lilac blooms if I remember correctly. Will have to go see if I can find it again.

(Zone 1)

I found it. No picture of the blooms here but I bet the lilac color looks pretty against this stunning foliage.

Episcia lilacina: http://www.gesneriads.ca/episc44.htm

and Rob's has a pic of the plant in bloom: http://www.robsviolet.com/ep_lilacina.htm

Apparently there area a couple E. lilacina with white flowers and then the one with lilac blooms. A few shown here: http://www.blossoms-birds-butterflies.com/episcia%20and%20Chirata.htm

JIM

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Here is a baby that is going to bloom yellow.........Raspberry Frost
I will have my episcias this spring, Jim and you are welcome to stolons.

Thumbnail by gessiegail
(Zone 1)

Oh, she's a pretty one Gail. But, I think Raspberry Frost is one with the normal reddish color blooms. There are a couple in the Raspberry series if I remember correctly, all with the normal red flower. Some just appear to be yellow before they open fully.

Sure is a beauty! Your plants are all so healthy looking, they just shine for the camera!

So many new names of members I don't know now, but for those of you who do know me... you know episcias have always been my favorite! I love 'Seafoam' Gail! GoldLeaf91011 gave me a bunch of stolons one time, with Seafoam included... and I lost that one! Would love to have another stolon of it, but by now it's probably too cold for shipping! {sigh} Guess I'll have to wait til spring!
