Dec.1 Would aspidistra survive being planted this late?

Fort Worth , TX(Zone 8b)

Besides bulbs, I don't know what plants I might be able to still get into the ground now. Anyone have comments? Thanks!

I have planted and transplanted Aspidistra, cast iron plant, in every season of the year and it grew just fine. It is a very hard plant to kill in my experience. Even if the leaves turn brown, which they probably will, just cut them off and the bulb should survive and produce new leaves.

Bonnie, thanks!

One other question for the forum, have any of you grown evergreen Solomon's Seal? It looks delicate but was advertised as hardy even a zone or two beyond my area.

No Solomons Seal experience here but many perennials can be planted in the fall as well as shrubs. With the cooler weather, what better time to work outside!

I honestly don't believe you can kill off the Aspidistra. I have dug and relocated it at any time of year. I never worry about watering it so it looks scruffy and still grows.
