congratulations... how long have you had her? How big is she? Have a pic of the entire plant? So many people show pics of just parts of plants and I really love seeing "the big picture too"
I got her before the summer with several stems..I can go take a pic of her..brb..lol..She isnt very tall...
Wow.. that bud really jumps out in the pic.. does she have a Y? Can't see ... how big is your hot house.. guess you need it for minor cold days you may have?
Nadine, she's looking great! Here's Brenda's photo of her bloom:

You mean to tell me that LM is a triple bloom??..I see 3 skirts..2 white and the end is yellow...
I have a hoophouse out of PVC pipes and use it for my hothouse to house my tropicals that cannot take the cold..I keep some of my smaller brugs in the hothouse until they get older then I plant them in the ground..
Lhasalover, the top and bottom pics show the Y as the 2 tiny buds are emerging...lol..middle pic show the larger bud..
Nadene how exciting! I know you are just beside yourself with anticipation.. what a gorgeous bloom to look forward too..
I am so glad to see this , thankyou!
Debra
Nadine, you've got a beauty! Lemon Meringue is just stunning!!
Thank you!
Wow. That gonna be a stunner for sure. Can't wait to see the pics when yours opens. I gotta quit looking at people's pics. Now I want one too. Hadn't see a pic of abrug yet with white and yellow on the bloom like that. Is it supposed to have a lemony smell to it? Even if it has no fragrance it gonaa be beautiful. : )
Many of mine have even been quadruple but usually the 4th skirt is stuck way up inside.
I have only had singles... happy to keep those alive around here.... can't wait to see that bloom! Now you have me thinking about those fancy doubles! .... and more! LOL
This one is a heavy bloomer Nadine. Every bloom I have had on her has been at least a triple. She loves the heat. In fact she tripled her size this summer when I was away. Good luck with her and enjoy!!
So far she is doing great and growing in my hothouse..Everytime our temps drop below 60, the Xmas lights kick on to keep the hothouse warm and toasty..lol...
I agree about her liking heat. Mine did really good this summer -grew and bloomed well in the heat and humidiyy....and is still doing nicely.
I debated all summer whether to get a Lemon Meringue, but finally decided to wait. Looks like Brenda is closed again. I'll have to find another source in the spring.
Moodene, you'll have to post information on this baby with updates on how she does in the heat next summer. I want something that can stand up to our summers. How's the summer humidity where you are? The humidity often got down into the low teens here especially this past summer. My Brugs refused to put out large leaves despite all the fertilizer I gave them.
Humidity here can be from 50 to 90% since I am about 20 mins from a bay of water near me..I'll come back and spell the name correctly ..
oooh, getting there... can't wait!
I've heard from a couple of other people that this cultivar drops a lot of buds. She never dropped buds for me though. Perhaps she is like Native Habitat Double Peach which dropped tons of buds until she matured. My lemon meringue didn't even set buds until she was over 4 feet tall and bushy (I couldn't really get this one shaped as a standard so I let her fill out on the sides). I suppose at that size she was mature enough to retain her buds and produce some beautiful blooms.
Mine hated the heat.. or me...LOL I hope to give it another try come Spring..
Since live in fort lauderdale where the summers are blazing hot, and she grew the most over the summer month I would not say that this cultivar hates the heat. In fact i classified her as one of the heat lovers.
She is being grown in a mostly shaded spot in the garden...maybe that is the key.
Update on my brug. She is now in a bigger pot and over 3 feet tall w several stalks. She love the heat here and I been having to water since my rainy season is messed up this year. I been feeding her piggy poop every week..She is in morning sun for about 1 hour then shade for the rest of the day...I will over winter her again in the hothouse and then will put her in the ground hopefully in the spring 2010.
