My rhode island red hen, about 4 years old, has been breathing right hard for about a month now. For the last 2 days she hasn't been eating much. I really haven't seen her drinking water either.
Does anyone know what could be going on with her? Please help!

Does she appear to have any nasal congestion - goopy sticky stuff around her nose or goopy eyes or anything like that? Sneezing? When you say breathing hard, do you mean as if she has been running a lot (i.e. out of breath) or that she is having trouble breathing. Have you looked inside her mouth at all? Does it look clear and normal? No obstructions in the throat?
Is she laying? Is she with any other hens and do any of the others have this symptom of breathing hard?

When you say "about 4 years old" Is it possible she is older? I'm sorry this is happening to her. I know it's hard to take. :(
