We came from here-
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/924835/
Well here we are - The last day of the gnomes visit.
I opted to start a continuing thread in case anyone with dial-up starts to have a problem with the long thread.
Will be back shortly with their last adventure and lots of pics of our winter wonderland that occurred while we were sleeping.
Stay tuned. Will post the pics right after dinner.
Hugs Elaine and Otis

The boys arrive in Havelock - Part 2
Thanks to everyone for your patience.
It is a rather sad evening since this will be the last night I post pics of the lads.
We had an excursion today. We trekked through a dump of snow. The place we went to is another wooded area that is 1 1/2 blocks from my home. Very short blocks actually. We occasionally hear coyotes and wolves yipping and howling during the night. It is a Conservation/Wetland that Otis and I frequent. We vary our walk/runs between the woods that I previously posted and these beautiful 700 wooded acres.
This is where we were.
Someone has somebody in their mouth!
I saw the coat and then I could hear this muffled voice.
This is what I heard -
"Whee, whee, whee, yahoo, cowabunga, faster Otis faster, uh, uh, uh, uh, okay stop, I mean it stop, oh no, I'm going to throw up, really - I'm going to throw up. Somebody help me, I'm not kidding, help me now, hurry, uh, uh, uh, uh, thanks. Took ya long enough."
Neck break - Be back shortly to finish this. Sorry for the delay.
I want a new neck for Christmas!
Otis had no intention of giving it back. I think Otis was antagonized because when the fellas were on the bridge having their picture taken, Bullwinkle was yelling at Otis,
"Look at me Otis. I'm way up here and I'm getting all your Mom's attention. She likes me better than you. See. She keeps taking my picture. Na, na, na, na, na. She likes me better than you."

I am posting the rest of the pics with next to no comment.
Our Creator and Mother Nature had a hand in these beautiful pictures. No words are necessary. At least, that is my humble opinion.
Hope you enjoy the majestic beauty as much as I do and as much as our visiting guests did.

More of the snow covered woods
I apologize for the colour of the pics but it was snowing. There was enough snow for me to use my new snowshoes but I know that I will be able to use them very soon.
We are going to have a tearful goodbye as I say goodbye to the fellas and send them on their way to Perth. DH tells me that the gnomes will go to Peterborough from Havelock and then Ottawa or Bellville and finally to Perth. Nothing like the good old postal service to complicate things.
I have enjoyed the lads more than you can imagine and I do hope you have enjoyed seeing Havelock through all the posted pics. Also hope that you have enjoyed their new wardrobe and all their antics. You will notice that I had a harness on Bullwinkle today. I am glad that I did that or I have a feeling that he would have jumped right into the water at the beaver dam.
The guys are in bed watching videos and munching on Popcorn. I did give them a small bag of Moosemallows since it is their last night.
I will see how much packing is actually required. Since they have their winter wardrobe, they should be able to be packaged with their clothing. The clothing should prevent breakage. I will make sure that they have enough packaging to ensure there is no chance of breakage.
I can hear them giggling. I will miss that. And I will miss each one and their unique personalities. I probably will miss Bullwinkle's snoring too.
Can't wait to see their adventures in Perth!
Hugs
Elaine, Otis, Dave, Bullwinkle and Ernie

Note to anyone reading the posts. I apparently can only have so many edits a day. Guess I must be more tired than I realized because I have made many boo-boos that I didn't catch the first time I posted.
Apparently I am used to spelling the profane word dam and not dam like in thing that holds the water back. At least I think I'm right about that. Who knows tonight? LOL.
I am going to take that R&R after they leave for sure.
God Bless
Elaine and Otis
Lovely Winter Wonderland photos, Elaine. Otis is sure a beautiful Boy. I enjoyed your photos of Havelock, but not as much as the boys did, I'm sure. Thanks for sharing. ^_^
Don - Thanks for your kind words and for continuing to follow the lads.
Otis is my miracle dog who came to me as a gift from eweed when he heard I was having surgery and I told him a golden retriever has always been my dream dog. I further told him that one of those beautiful pups of his sure would help me recuperate quicker. Long story later and much generosity from several people and Otis was transported from Everson, WA to Vancouver airport and then flown to Toronto to be met by my husband and myself. He was 8 weeks and one day old and it was love before we even met. After my back surgery, the only therapy for 6 months was walk, walk, walk. Otis comes with me for all these walks. He has changed my outlook from being the unluckiest person in the world to the luckiest. Is it any wonder why we are such a dynamic duo? LOL
The lads are boxed up ready to go into the snail mail today :( I can hear muffled giggles coming from the box. Can only imagine what is going on in there. Doesn't seem like a nice way for me to treat my friends now, does it?
Hope you follow them throughout their adventures. I am assuming that these threads will be pulled together to make a complete, uninterrupted tour. At least, I hope so.
Hugs to all
Elaine and Otis

It just dawned on me - I neglected to post the pertinent facts about Havelock.
We are a village with a population of 1300 people, although; where they all are, I can only guess. We are part of the Havelock, Belmont, Methuen township.
Our village consists of a library/preschool, funeral home, barber, post office, Sears catalogue sp? depot, Community Care, two video stores, a trophy shop, a post office with P.O. boxes, school, Community Centre, too many restaurants, Community Centre with ice pad, dollar store, Hardware Store, Lumber Store, one bank, one grocery store, LCBO/Beer store and a brand new Tim Hortons with gas bar. We also have several freight trains which are generally Canadian Pacific Railway. Since Highway 7 runs right through Havelock, many people drive through. Havelock is also home of the famous Havelock Jamboree which happens for 4 days every summer. Nothing else worth mentioning, IMHO.
That is about it. I think we have about 37 hairdressers who work out of their home but darned if I can find one to give me a good haircut. That is about all the glitter of Havelock. Except to mention the two amazing wooded areas that are beautiful and full of wildlife. Otis and I haunt one of the two wooded areas every day.
Drop in and sit a spell - LOL.
Hugs Elaine and Otis
LOL...I hear your misery re hairdressers. Even when you finally think you have found the "right one", they slip up and you start all over again.
I remember the story about Otis coming to you from eweed. Such a wonderful example of human kindness when another is in need. eweed is probably is very happy with his decision as it appears Otis coldn't have found a better or more loving home.
LOL ... so Bullwinkle got a saliva-bath from Otis, eh? Serves him right for taunting poor Otis. Your lovely wintery pics make up for having to shovel 6" of the wet stuff we had yesterday.
I've driven through Havelock a few times on the way to Toronto. I didn't realize it was that large a town - it doesn't look very big from the highway. Congrats on your new Timmy's.
Here's hoping the lads have a pleasant journey en route to Perth.
Sandy
Sandy - It isn't exactly big. Just a bunch of stuff crammed into a small area. The woods are what make it great for me. Got my first set of snowshoes about 3 weeks ago so no excuses for not getting out in the nasty winter. Can you tell I'm not a winter person?
You also can hear a pin drop generally after 6 p.m.. Makes sitting out under the gazebo at night so peaceful. Of course they do roll up the streets at 6.pm. and the library only has one book - LOL.
The Timmies came after years of being told we were getting one. I am happy that we finally got it. I had to drive to Campbellford to get my Timmies fix. That is where the twoonie pics were taken.
Hope the boys have a safe trip as well.
Hugs Elaine and Otis
Thanks for the pics Elaine. I DID notice the harness on Bullwinkle and thought it was a good idea. We all know how much trouble he can get into. But taunting Otis is a new one. He deserves what he gets, I think. I also hope the lads have a pleasant journey. Want to take any bets on how long it takes them to cover a distance you can drive in 2 hours or less?
Interesting about the hairdressers. I'm convinced the majority don't know what they are doing, but I'm fortunate to have found one in Ottawa and one in Vancouver who are both pretty good, though the one in Ottawa varies from time to time in quality of the cut which, given the price, shouldn't happen.
Ann
Got confirmation yesterday that the gnomes were in Perth -
They left Cambellford at 2 p.m then to Peterborough then to Ottawa then to Perth
Basically the next day and I didn't pay any extra for shipping. Wow. I am impressed and glad they didn't have to be in their container for long. I wonder if the postal workers heard any moose giggles coming out the box?
Hugs and a final ta-ta for this thread!
Elaine and Otis
the lads have arrived in Perth, I picked them up last night on my way home from work.
The postal workers had wondered about the giggles coming from the package, but they understood when I explained the parcel contained a moose and a couple of gnomes.....
I'll start a new thread for the Perth leg of their trip...
Their adventures in Perth continue at: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/928480/
