Hi, everyone! I want some kitty advice. We adopted two cats last year from our local shelter. They were tested for Fe Leuk and all caught up on shots then. We took them to our local vet after we got them home and had them checked up and they had a couple of boosters. We just got a postcard from the vet saying they are due for more shots and tests, specifically:
Quoting:
Rabies Vacc 1yr
V Fdcvrdp Yearly (what is that??)
Leukemia Yearly
L Fecal Analysis
Exam w/Annuals
So here's my question. The cats are indoor-only. We don't have any other pets to bring in fleas/distemper/etc. Do they actually NEED a yearly rabies shot? Do they need the other shots? We'll do it if we really need to, of course. We love our kitties! But, frankly, if they are only really necessary if the cats are visiting with other potentially sick cats, we'd rather spend the money on something else - like Christmas presents or plants!
