Does anyone on this forum have Kiwis? I am interested in Actinidia arguta (hardy Kiwi), I recently tasted some, a cultivar that is not available in the US though ('Ambrosia').
I have read various sites, including Edible Landscaping (EL) and The Fruit Blog. EL does not say anything about chill requirements for their offerings. I have heard someone in the area here has 'Anna' (Ananasnaya), but I haven't found anything about chill time for it.
On the other hand, it does get very hot here in the summer, and I understand that that may be a problem too.
Are squirrels interested in kiwis??
I could put them either at the East side of the house (free standing structure) with a lot of sun or by the NE deck with several hours of sun in the a.m. and shade after 2 p.m. If neither of these places sound good, I'll have to find another spot ( I have plenty of space), and I am hoping that some kind person here has some ideas???
Many thanks for your help and Happy Thanksgiving to all.
C.
