I had an incubator egg hatch successfully almost 4 days after the others. It actually hatched in my hand as I was cleaning out the incubator. So I would give it at least 3 days. But if the broody leaves it, I would assume it was probably no longer viable. I've never hatched with a broody--I suspect you can trust them to stay as long as the eggs are still "talking" to them.

I second Catscan's advice. I too have had late hatching eggs from a single group all incubated at the same time. Let the hen decide - she will know when it is the right time to move off her eggs and take her little one(s) forward into the world to learn how to feed and drink and all that wonderful stuff!

How cute. I love the fluffy butts! The crew hatched with summer camp was the same as Catscan and CMoxon. We had two hatch 4 days before the others straggled in. I was sad because I thought that was all we were getting! 2 out of 20! :( But we ended up with 10. So I agree with them wait 3-4 days.
