CLOSED: Eastern wood pewee??

Fox Island, WA(Zone 8b)

It's a bad photo, I know. My best guess is eastern wood pewee, though I would think it may be a bit late for them here. Other guesses are eastern phoebe, or eastern kingbird

Eastern Phoebe, given the dark head contrasting strongly with the white chin. And as you half-suspected, pewees will be in South America by now!

Must be a late traveler. Saw him flying around today with at least 2 others. It's been pretty warm here (up in the high 70's) so maybe they just forgot where they were :) The next front will surely move them on down south

Thanks!

Eastern Phoebe will stay all winter where you are - their winter range given by Sibley extends north to central TX east to NC

Think I am right on....the Eastern Wood Phoebe speaks it's own name....a high shrill Phoeebee while showing it's tail pump which is a dead give away if observed with the call. They have left our area (Northcentral Pa.), to winter with you. Enjoy.
