I have gotten 2 emails from different members. Both requesting my at least one of my favorite Brugmansia and one requesting almost every single one of my favorite Brugmansia from my collection. I think I have created monsters...LOL, I love to see that others love the same Brugmansia as I do, but I don't trade cuttings of Brugmansia in my favorites category unless they are old favorites or I am not currently setting seed to them. Currently, I am setting seeds to all of my favorites. This fall, oct I should perhaps have some more cuttings of my favorites. Guess you could say I am greedy. On an upnote-I have sent out a few of my favorites to include double oranges this year, culebra's, etc...So, I don't feel too bad. Jimminy Crickets, you guys loving the same Brugmansia as I do, well I love that-but I just can't stand to let em go till I have set some more seed. Have to over winter some cuttings in the green house for me to insure early seed production next year as well. Needless to say, my aurea's will be overwintered inside and outside. Lose some to the ground and some will come out of the greenhouse.

Brugman,
It's okay to be greedy with your babies!
When they become adult Brugs, then you can offer some for trade. As, for me....
I like 'em a little older!

You sick perv you...Just joking. I was refering to Brugs capable of seed production by the way. Most of the ones I am talking about are either setting seed for the first time or being pollinated with a different type of pollen for the first time. In reality, I would gladly give away tons of my seedlings that have already bloomed simply because I don't like whites. I only have about 2 seedlings out of my entire last batch of seedlings I completly adore and two others I think are tops in the white department from my hybrids. In short-4 out of 600+ seedlings or so that were raised to maturity last year do I like.....
I bet you'll do much better next year!
White is not my favorite garden color either.

Mr. Brugman, i know you have sent out cuttings to quite a few people with the idea that people "pass some on", and i have the impression you mailed these at your own cost. as those cuttings grow more people will have access to them. i know i was sitting on my hands, no one in the world hates packing plants more than me, but seeing you dish out i did make some behind the scenes trades/sase's. tig and calalily have been very busy passing them on, and i know KHT is very generous with her cuttings.
i expect the cuttings to start flying with cool weather, you just keep everything you want and don't feel guilty. compared to you most of us are amateurs and haven't put the money into our plants that you have. just so people know and don't think i have an "in" or something, i have bought brugs from brugman a couple of times, as is the fair thing to do if you don't have something of equal value to trade, money works quite well. not that it was easy, i really had to talk him into it.
Arlene,
Every year I try to mail some Brugmansia cuttings out with the simple idea that those who recieve them will pass them on to others for free. I have recently started to accept postage and even more than postage in some cases as I just don't have the resources to do this as much as I would like to. Arlene, you must realize that a vast majority of my Brugmansia were purchased at over 25 dollars a piece some were even in the hundreds as I wanted to be the first to have them. Still, others were repeat buys of the same Brugmansia from improper labeling or mixups at different nurseries. No one is perfect and you can't expect them to be perfect. Arlene, you know that you are very kind and thats all that matters. I know that you have offered to pay for Brugmansia from my collection and even pick them up in person and to that no one can fault you. I surely hope people aren't drowning you with e-mails asking for Brugmansia as I know much of what you have you have already passed on to others. If I had any really nice Brugmansia Arlene is well aware I would not even consider her for one...Another Joke Arlene. Dont hit me with tomatoes though if they arent funny.
I almost always stick my foot in my mouth. Sorry, it's a fault. (tiG, the great defender:)
If you're new to this, you can ask for brugs in the plant trading forum, and I feel certain that someone will contact you.

I am sure there will be a lot of sharing, kinda a like a big family, everyone just won't get what they want right away. Forgot to mention Gloria and Trish above, for being so kind in sharing, and i am sure there are others i'm not aware of.
brugman, i'd have to get help from my kids with the tomatoes, they are the pitchers in the family and throw much harder than me. not necessary yet, though....lol
Brugman,
I just sent out some of your babies on Tuesday....one box went back to FL, one to OK and two stayed in MS. Your babies are really getting around. Thanks for sharing.
actually, between the fall and spring trading seasons, I bet everyone who wants them will be covered. Have 3 more boxes going out tomorrow myself.
Scared.........You are Scared
You should see my husband. He's now afraid of the postman.
Well you created us crazies scrambling around for brug now we have to live with us and our addiction therefore, you have to live with us LOL
But Brugmansia you have trained everyone well. I can no longer be silent. Through your gifts of kindness your friends namely KHT, Claire, Sandy and Susie have been so kind both with goodies and information and trust me I am the novice of novices. You also should know that us novices don't know what we are asking for. Over the past week I've learned a little about rarities but I put in so many hours my husband brings my breakfast to me at the computer or in the garden LOL It's only coffee don't get excited.;-)
In general from day one DG and it's participants have been terrific. I'm glad that my move is over and I can sit her drooling once again. Getting back into the people and the things I truly enjoy.
So plese do forgive us newbies to brugs. We have no clue of the $ value or worse yet the time value all we know is just that "we want 'em". Also I will say, w/o asking by name I have gotten some real prizes(or will soon get) The names are in my head but in my heart they are all called by their previous owners. DH was curious why none of them are men but suzie one, two, three, four and Karma etc.
So now, all recipients of Brugmansias specials can drop some babies off right here TEE HE. Only kidding.
It's great to be back and keep those pictures coming
God's Choicest Blessing to you all
Carol
Have a bloomin good day.

MzMunchken,
Can you blame them? I love to see people inflamed with Brugmansia fever. MzMunchken, thank you so much for doing this and I think you have gotten the true spirit of what I was trying to impart. You have brought tears of joy to my eyes....Of course someone else is typing this as I would never admit to that....Thanks so much you everyone.
karma, you too are one of those passing on blessings in green!! You both are treasures to me!
I would be interested in getting some of the brugs that you would be offereing up.
Please email me at nancy5@sympatico.ca and let me know which ones you would be willing to part with.
Thanks,
Nancy
Nancy, you never let me know about your Frosty Pinks, did they make it?
OK OK, I admit it. It was me that was "OVER zealous". I am soooo sorry. I thought the earlier thread of Brugs and Datura list was there for people to set trades up. I apologise. I feel just awful after reading this thread and promise to not ask for any more. Please don't feel bad Brugman that you had to say no. I never intended to upset anyone with the request of a trade. I understand you are waiting for seeds, and I never meant I expected some of all the cuttings I inquired about. Those were just the ones I was most interested in. Please forgive me for upsetting you.
Robin
Robin, i think he just thinks you have good taste, tig and i are over protective... did you really ask him for one of each of his cuttings? when you wear him down, please share!
LOL!!!!!!! arlene, you're a trip!! and yes, I'm very overprotective of all my friends. That includes you Robin.
Well, Robin is the only brug fiend i know who dreams of rows of double pinks her neighobor graciously grows for her at their fence....this is now a day dream of mine.
arlene
oh, that's my dream too!! guess I better stop reading about them and go water them:)
LOL you guys. I guess I just asked for his very best ones. (of course ;o)
That was a very nice dream I had of the neighbor planting double pink candida all along the fence line. Weird huh? I think it's the only plant I ever dreamed of. (or remember anyway
Thanks Arlene and Tig.
Robin
