Mama,
I am not too far from you! I pass the exit for Fate when I go to Rockwall. I would love the abutilon...souvenir de bonn. Besides, I'd like to meet you! I have seen posts by you ever since I joined DG and I knew where Fate was... Do you know where Emory is?
Carol
Very Cool Carol!!
I checked with DH and I am about 2 1/2 hrs away...
hey there, good to see you post! we have missed you! :)
tracie
hello to everyone.
mitch could you talk lou or bronc into taking them for you?
i'd like to meet you too yardqueen. i do know where emory is and i know where weatherford is as well. whoever wants this stuff just give me a heads up and i'll save whatever it is but i am not bringing anything in and don't know the weather forecast so lmk if you're coming. i might could be talked into bringing something in but not for long.
yardqueen....if you want to go to campbell i might could talk my sister into bringing that one plant. she's the postmaster there and would bring one. but if you want more of this stuff you gotta come. the sugar cane is in the ground but will easily dig and overwinter inside. if it were to rain i could part with other things that are hardy here but don't want to dig in this dry spell.
the abutilon came from a lady up north. it was a tiny baby 2 yrs. ago...maybe 3 when it got here. it's about 3 ft. tall and lost all it's leaves but the top ones. finally saw it bloom this year.
Is it in a pot? is it hardy here? I sort of thought it was. I can't imagine one 3 ft tall as the only one I saw was little. I grew it from seed and it wound up in my daughter's back bed. It was pretty, but a small plant. Do you think with care the leaves will come back or will I grow it as a tree? LOL
Mama - I left Christi so many plants her greenhouse is full to overflowing! and TJ does not have any indoor room... so is life - it is so good to here from you!
Well It's about time you were letting us know you were still Kicking.LOL I have also missed gabbing with you. You have a ton of friends on Daves so don't forget that.
Cindy
heehehee i know i got friends here. i have so much going on with my kids and they almost got away from me last year. pray for my kids as they enter their teen years.
and carol....i think this particular abutilon is hardy in zone 9. i have never had an abutilon so can't be sure but i would guess that as the tree grows it will produce other branches and leaves.
the spinach plant came from floridian and has great sentimental value to me. this is not the vegetable spinach. looks sort of like what.....can't remember the name. last year every one was wanting the variegated one. ah, yes, the tapioca plant.
ALSO HAVE HIBISCUS FRAGILIS. this is a very rare plant. only about 150 in the world. it is not hardy here and supposedly crosses with other hibiscus easily which is the reason for it's rarity. this was a seed started plant.
purple sugar cane has extreme sentimental value to me. but it needs to be in the ground. it came from a disabled lady in california. i rooted it myself.
i tell yall about the sentimental value so you'll know how much i want them to live.
