Hi, this is a picture of Ardisia elliptica an invasive weed. The fluorescent pink new foliage is a good indicator to the species.

Hmmm. Could be- I am looking into it. The only thing is - isn't elliptica also supposed to have pinkish/purplish flowers? The one I took a picture of had white flowers. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Joan, please move my pictures into the Ardisia elliptica file. It's certainly a much closer ID than A. escallonioides. I had the opportunity to discuss this today with a local botanist who is very knowledgable about native Floridian species. Thank you Guadua for correcting my entry.
