looking for a good book
Hi queen, I'll have to keep an eye out for this. I'm not sure if 1 book would have all that included. Most say what habitat the different birds are in like woods, farmland and suburb.
Good luck finding a book like that. Do let us know if you find one. Most of us here could spend the hours just watching our feeder...and a few of us are lucky enough we can do just that...I am one of those !! I love my woodies too. They always make me smile. :)
Hi queen, In the meantime here's a great old thread on that subject in this forum.

Excellent link! This is something that I am working on now. I have a small wooded section in my yard that has been completely ignored until now. There is a lot of smaller "trash" plants that need to be cleaned up, but I would like to add some berry bushes to attract more birds. This area is partly sunny. It includes a few dogwoods that I think need to be replaced because at least half of the branches don't flower.
Hi Queen,
This book isn't exactly what you are looking for but I have found it helpful with info on feed choices, houses/nesting and habitat. The charts are very good.

We have improved the variety of woodpeckers to the yard by building the appropriate boxes.
Good Luck!

It looks like only a few of these birding books have been reviewed; if you have some birding books on your own bookshelf, please add them and/or share your opinion of them, since what you know will help others!
