I just wanted to say Hi and that I am bird watching from the Quad Cities area of Illinois. Not sure I am doing this right but wanted to share a picture I took yesterday of a Cedar wax wing. Also saw the first pair of Bald eagles sitting in the tree over by the arsenal on Tuesday so they are coming.
Hello
Welcome to the Dave's Garden bird watching thread, glo77. Looks like you did everything right.
The Cedar Waxwing is always a welcome sight. Hope to see some photos of your local Bald Eagles, also.
Welcome to Daves and the Bird Watching forum glo!
We look forward to seeing more of your photos.
Hi to you, glo77 and welcome. What a beautiful bird. I can understand how some people have thought about cancelling holidays when Cedar Waxwings have been reported in the area close to home.
Welcome....I usually always see some Waxwings late winter here. Hope you continue to upload your bird pics.
welcome Glo! You're in my neighborhood! Lucky you with the Cedar Waxwings. Don't forget to pop on over to Linth's Eagle thread. With all the Eagles in the QCA, you'll be sure to get some pix to post! Our first eagle arrived this week too (Rock Falls).
LOL Margaret. Hmmm, who do we know that might cancel a holiday???
Welcome Glo....lucky you to have the Waxwings...I almost cancelled a recent holiday when I heard they were in our area! LOL...Mrs. Ed and Margaret!
Glo...hope you will joing us and post more pics of your birds...again, welcome to the BW Forum!
That's a great capture. I wish I could see Eagles everyday instead of Grackles, etc.
That is a nice shot!
That is a nice image, glo77. Those are the kind of shots that make the best photograph. Did the eagle actually land ?
It's also makes a nice photo when the eagle takes off from a branch or tree. A couple of weeks ago, I had my camera and lens focused on a sitting Bald Eagle just waiting for take-off. I patiently waited for over an hour. And, then, some other eagle activity distracted me for a few seconds and when I looked back, he was gone. Sometimes you just can't win.
Hi Glo!! Nice pic of the waxwing... I love photographing them.
We love eagles pics! It has to be cool to see them everyday. We have them where I live but don't see them on a regular basis.
Looking forward to more photos!!
Yes I know about patiently waiting and waiting and yes that eagle did in fact land. That photo is with my sony point and shoot. I so would have loved my dream lens for that one. Just thought the wing position was gorgeous. I am actually at work today but on a quick coffee break so decided to peak in to the forum.
HA Glo! You are now HOOKED (checking in at work)!
