Many of you have been with me on the prayer thread through the illness & death of my DH (7/21), followed quickly by the death of my mother. It has been a difficult year and, although I have every intention of living life to the fullest, I did find myself going backwards with my grief. I had a talk with myself and told myself it was high time I got that dog I've wanted for soooooo long! So, yesterday I picked up my dear little Yorkie at the airport (yes, I did a big "no-no" and ordered off the Internet). Not only did he survive the long plane ride from Arkansas, but also the long ride in the car from the airport to where I live. He is a real character - full of energy, loving life! He was met at the airport not only by me, but by my DD and her one-year-old, and my DGD and HER one-year-old. He was not at all bothered by any of it. I suspect he is going to be a handful!
Spike is 8 weeks (and three days) old - I don't know how much he weighs, but not much! He has a vet appointment in about an hour so I will find out. He's a great little 'crate' dog, but he's not getting the potty training at all yet.
Why did I name him Spike? Because any dog that small (especially a male!) needs a BIG and powerful name!!! LOL
I'll post a few pics now, but then need to head out for Spike's appointment.
Meet Spike
