Bottom line: We're going to complete an ebb & flow system and need to know the nutrient calculation or better yet what nutrients are best and how to use per gallon of water. We'll be growing inside totally near a sunny window with lights. Vegetables will include lettuce, tomato, cucumber, squash, zuchini, peppers and beans. Very small number of each. Can we grow them all together using the same solution? (crossing fingers hoping so).
We have set up a system using clay pebbles and a water system that constantly runs. The only plant to take was a tomato plant which initially grew a lot of green but no flowers; we adjusted chemicals and received flowers but no fruit; adjusted chemicals again, got fruit but took forever for just one to ripen. I saw another one starting to ripen this morning, but it has been green for a few weeks.
I'm not opposed to using Miracle Grow, but I imagine we might need add something else?
I plan to start the seeds using the coffee filter method and once they reach a size big enough for me to see them once they are put in the pebbles they'll go in the system.
Thanks in advance!

You are going to have some unhappy plants if you use the same solution. In my opinion the plants you listed are just too far apart on requirements of temperature, sunlight, PH and nutrient strength. I grew eggplant and pole beans in the same solution last year with very good success but they were similar in nutrient requirements.
Miracle Grow is not a good hydroponics substitute and you will end up paying as much or more than using hydroponics nutrients. I use Total Grow (Steiner nutrient solution) and could not be more pleased with the results.
You also should have a pump timer with the ebb/flow system. I have not seen the ebb/flow system where the pump runs continuously.
I will PM you a nutrient chart.
Hope this helps.

Hi Oldude! We currently have the continuous flow system but are changing to ebb & flow. DH is putting some gadget thingie in pvc pipe and when the water reaches a certain level it does something and the water then drains. I dunno...I just get the plants going and he does the mechanical stuff.
I purchased some Hydro-Gro A&B from Carefreegarden yesterday. I did a lot of research regarding the Miracle Gro and it isn't sufficient.
Okay, so what "salad" veggies can I put together in the same container? :( I might try the beans in a float system. Those look pretty easy and I could do that in one of the several large pots I have. Unless I poked the hole out in the bottom, then that might be a problem. lol
