You know I said I was not having any chicks during winter, WELL I could not resist. I got 18 RIR and 6 dellies at an Auction Monday night anddddddddddddddddd I have about 150 eggs in the 2 incubators. I am NUTS for sure.
I have 17 turkens, 18 Jersey giants and 60 sex links, them were from local, then I have barnyard specials from Shelia. Some could be true breeds.
Question on the RIR chicks, a dark mark on the head roo or hen?

I believe it's the females with the darker spots on the head and neck..

I had a RIR that fell asleep all the time.. everyone else was eating or chasing bugs and it was nodding off.. I put the pic of it on the wallpaper for my cell phone. LOL
I had a very lazy cat once he would fall asleep eating or drinking i would come in the kitchen and there he was his head laying on the lip of his bowl sound asleep.
These girls are big and laying now, just thought it may help to see how RIRs look when little. They were pretty darn cute, weren't they? :)
Ok well maybe there is still hope, most all mine look like these here.
