I have roots!

Eunice, MO(Zone 5b)

I just gotta tell someone and I choose you. I have my first roots on my first brug cuttings ever in my whole long life. It is way too cool. These things root faster than willow and willow root if you just spit on 'em. I know that I am a long way from blooms but thanks all for the advice and encouragement and thanks to the wonderful folk who shared their cuttings.

Hey Kathy, congratulations girl! You are on a fast road to Brugmansia addiction now, there is no looking back!

Oh I got hooked with the pics and the conversation. There is no back anymore. I am so pleased with my cuttings. Now my dauther can stop teasing me about my kindling. She said that the water was going to make them impossible to burn in the stove. She acts like it is the first time she ever saw me put sticks in water to make them grow.

oh you nasty enablers. I have a noid pink and a noid white. I also have a MEM and a salmon perfektion. The salmon perfektion is showing signs of getting mushy so I will trim it today and try rooting in soil. Apparantly it does not like water.

Oh, your first steps to a growing addiction... once you know how easy they are to grow you will have a forest of brugs.. congratulations.... I now have a small jungle of rooting cuttings and a forest of small potted brugs. Welcome .. .... My name is Tammie and I am an addict! LOL

I am not fooling myself. This will be hard work. They are not going to be all that easy. My summers are dry and my winters are cold. I thought long and hard before trading for my first cuttings. These are not a plant it and forget it thing. After drooling over all of the pictures and reading all of the ( ok not all but lots) threads I see it can be done and is worth it. I have worked harder for less show lol. Without all of you, I would never have tried them. I am looking forward to what summer will bring. I will cross the winter bridge when I get to it. Chatting with other DG members who live reasonably near me I know it can be crossed. Thank you all for being here!
