Native Habitat Double Peach

This is one of the most finicky brugs. She has a tendency to grow very tall before showing a "Y" and drop lots of buds in her earlier years. For me, only when I finally planted her in the ground did i find that she produced her most beautiful blooms and dropped very few buds. Her coloring can be magnificent and the size of the blooms are enormous. I'm glad i kept this one even though in the earlier years she caused me undo stress.

Me too, Just got one. Thanks for letting us know she fussy. Wil keep an extra eye on mine as she grows up.

Do you think it was the hot temps on her roots that kept her keep losing her buds? I up above you but can get very hot here too.

beautifull , i got this cutting last month from a good seller on ebay . it didnt want to root in the orchid moss . so i put it in a bubbler after i cut the soft part off the bottom . t got nubbies in a few days and then i put it in the dirt . its full of roots but just starting to leaf out . i hope it does good. i can put it in the ground if ill have better success, and re root it every year . does it have a fragrance ?

She's so beautiful she'll be worth the wait. Thanks for sharing those photos and the info about her tendency to drop buds.

The very first time she bloomed for me was back in 2006. I got some nice pictures of her back then as well..
BTW for those people who are interested, this is probably one of the most fragrant brugs around.

The flowers on this cultivar are large too. The one in the photo is 16" long from the tip of the penucle to the end of the skirt. She is also about 8" wide.

Do you mulch the roots?

Lula, GA

This one may like a little shade in the afternoon! Mine do!

A cutting from my parent plant of 2007 produced these blossoms this summer, dragging on the ground, nearly, as the plant was only 3' tall. Mommy in '07 was over 8' and flushed twice. The longest blossoms I've ever seen!!

I have had no trouble with this one, and did not know it is finacky!

Thanks for sharing your photos!!

i soooo look forward to seeing blooms on mine, which is planted inground, so I hope not finicky. I'm the only one in my household allowed to be finicky.
