What would cause this?

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

I thought it might be residual damage from the mite infestation this past summer but all my plants had mites and only one plant has these polka dots.

Any ideas? Thanks

Ardesia, I am not an expert, however, I remember reading somewhere that it could be caused by some leafshine products. In any event, the following source has some insight as to the cause. Hope this helps. Snug

Thanks Snug, I haven't used anythng to shine the leaves and I am fairly certain the spots are not indicative of a fungal problem.

alice, it looks like one of the many Cercospora leaf spots to me.

Hah, A fancy big word, I had to look that one up. :-)

From what I can google the cercospora spots are typical fungi in that they have a grayish center and an outer ring; they are commonly called bulls eye or frogs eye. These are just a solid color. Also, I looked up the cercospora on a Hawaiian site and they listed it as a problem on many, many plants but not hibiscus. I may have to send this one off to Clemson for a diagnosis.
