Took a little trip

Bluffton, SC(Zone 9a)

Really nice tree full bloom. Apparently it blooms as it loses it's leaves.

It's a Chorisia speciosa, http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/55678/.

Impressive looking tree, I'm going to track one down to see if it will live around here. Everything I read said it can take a frost so who knows, maybe???

You can't tell in that picture but that tree is at least 30ft by 50ft.

Took the picture down in Epcot in Orlando. If any of you are down that way it's worth a stop. Epcot and animal kingdom have trees and plants in bloom all over the place. It was a surprise to me.

Some how I picked up a map and it was in Asian. ???? Chinese???? Made locating places a problem, here is us trying to figure it out.

Granny thought it would be funny to have grumpy shirts made for everyone. I was overjoyed when I saw those and was forced to wear one.

Overjoyed seems to be a reoccuring theme.

I want one of those trees and maybe one of the grumpy man shirts too; I know a grumpy man who need to be reminded he is grumpy sometimes. :-)

Ardesia: It must be a man thing, as I have one of those grumpy old men in my house, too!

Columbia, SC(Zone 7b)

In the movie Grumpy Old men there was the best quote:
"Kids! Can't live with em, can't shoot 'em!"

LOL

Love my kids, but I think of that saying often!
Also, one of our Boy Scout patrols in the troop (the older boys) became the Grumpy Old men patrol. Their Patrol Yell "Phooey! Get me a rocking chair!"

Plus my favorite John Wayne poster... I want a t-shirt out of this --

I LOVE that John Wayne line.

We've got puddles too although we've had little rain. The temperature just dropped 20 degrees inthe last hour or so. It was summery late this morning and now I am ready for hot cocoa or maybe something stronger.

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Core: Awww! Look at the boys in their matching shirts!. ;->

Soggy here, too.
Ardesia: We had the same experience over this way. Like summer this morning; now damp and cold.

I love the John Wayne pic. Can you send me that?

You mean you guys don't like that nervous twitchy energy that goes on for hours at a time? I'm getting old because I'm starting to say things like "go somewhere, anywhere but here. Daddy needs some quite time". LOL. Oh, I counted and we have 22 kids under 12 on my street. They all have bikes now and are Mobile. What was I thinking????

Lucky us granny made shirts for all.

Here's about ten of the little ones. Sunday they picked my yard to crash. They travel in groups on the weekends.
