Can house finches cling?

I've seen some beautiful steel mesh thistle feeders (I have my eye on a copper lantern-style one) but there are no perches or trays on most of them. And I currently have a steel tube thistle feeder by PerkyPet (not as fine as mesh but still for clingers only) but I've never tried it for fear of excluding my house finches. Can house finches cling to these feeders?
