help with AV

Thomasville, GA(Zone 8a)

All of my violets look good but many of them are growing up on the top and there is nothing on the stem. How do I cut the top off, and what do I do with it, and the part that is left? Do I make sense?

You make perfect sense, kamikid. What you are dealing with is called a "long neck". I am sending a link for instructions to get you started. If the neck is too long, then click on the link at the very bottom of the page that shows about re-rooting the crown.

Good luck and let us know about your violet....

Thank you so much. I have 2 or3 that will have to have the later treatment. But at least I can save them and I wont have to discard them. I have a lot of AV but haven't had this problem before. Have a wonderful day and take care. Elaine
