Does anyone know this jasmine?

Someone sent me this photo of his jasmine growing in his yard. It is a small tree. Does anyone know the correct name of it?

Yup Ariel73/s right that's the NYCTANTHES ARBOR-TRISTIS. I have one in my garden and love it. It's blooming right now with a beautiful scent. Blooms fall off by morning so you have to catch them early.

Audrey, I am always on Rarefloras website. I love their plants!

astcgirl, how long have you had yours? Do you have it in a pot or in the ground? Do you protect it during cold spells?

There are so many plants I want. But I have been trying to reduce the amout of plants that I have to drag in or protect. Every winter I swear I am going to cut back on my more cold sensitive plants. But of course I haven't.
Maybe that will be my New years resolution.....again. Ha ha!

Thanks for all your help.

Hi Ariel73, I've had my plant for about a year and a half, last year I did cover it and drag it into my lanai (it's in a pot) but only on the freeze nights so it was only 2-3 times. A couple of leaves turned brown but it sprung out again in spring. It is a beautiful plant, in my pot it has a weeping habit and the scent I would describe as jasmine/strong honey. I got it from Top Tropicals. I've never had any problem with pests or anything, it's really an easy plant.

Here's a picture of it in it's pot....looks like it hasn't got any blooms, but it's because they only open at night and drop by morning. I love picking up the fallen blooms and placing them in a small bowl to float and enjoy the scent.

I have one too and it just started blooming. It always blooms in the fall for me. I know it is blooming, by the smell before I ever see the blossoms have opened.

I'm in Sarasota and I don't bring mine in. Some years its totally deciduous. Others, not.
Love the fantastic scent!
