Not many post here so I'll add this :
Today is Veterans Day, Remembrance Day in Canada (same as Vets Day), first day of Indain Summer and also St. Martin’s Day...so
If the geese on St. Martin’s Day stand on ice, they will walk in mud at Christmas.

I love lore like that! If I had geese, they would have been standing in mud yesterday. I don't suppose there is an inverse rule and I'll get a white Christmas.
Lily, I moved to KY from south FL where I lived most of my life, this will be my 2nd winter.
We had snow, I think it stayed for a week, maybe twice.
I was able to build a one foot tall snow man ^_^
This year the prediction, for 'the Ohio Valley' is snow most of Dec.
So we shall see.
Lived all my life in SE Texas except for one year in Vermont. It was easier getting used to the cold than coming back and getting used to the heat again! As a kid, everything would shut down for snow, and up there, everything went on as usual. Thank heaven for snow tires. Of course it snows here about as much as it does in Florida. So far we have not had any winter, but the squirrels' tails are quite thick. We shall see!
