Thanks a bunch, My favorites are streps, and hop to do some hybridizing in the next month. Waiting on 50 new streps I have just ordered, to say I am diving in is........well an understatement. LOL

75 Jim so far, I hear you have that beat by a long shot, by the way I love North Dakota, and have several times thought about moving to the garrison area.

Yes....................there are a lot of strep addicts here............welcome aboard............

Lakeview, OR(Zone 7b)

I love streps but their leaves are soooo big and that takes room. Their flowers are just amazing. I had three and killed them most quickly. Too dry a building I think.

Welcome Steve!

I have some streps that grow great and others I have trouble keeping them alive. Can't hardly get one to grow from a leaf either, but I keep trying different ways...maybe one day! The one that grows the best for me is Echo..ironically, its one of the few I grew from a leaf!

Lynn, I will walk you step by step and even send you some leaves. You will be thrilled when you see the babies................let me know when your zone isn't freezing. The last time I tried to send Goldleaf some episcias in December, I fried them because it is not cold here.

***edited to say I put the heat pack loose ........it was hot here. That is how they got fried.

Lynn! I grow streps because they are so much easier than AV's! They will tolerate more temperature swings, more direct sunlight, & more overwatering. Actually, the only way to kill them is to let them stand in water.
So if I can do it, you can! Besides if Gail is helping, you cant fail!

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

Hey Jim! Have you seen any of the Mari Gras yet?

(Lynn) Omaha, NE(Zone 5a)

Thanks a lot Gail! I will.So far I have some Episcias,AVs,and Sinns ordered and other members are sending me starts when it warms up of other plants.I might as well dive in head first and try everything..LOL.Kivit,thanks for the encouragement! I may need a lot of help at first, but if I do I know there are some experts here ^_^.
