Im stumped!

Any ideas what this is? Looks like a cat of some kind... I found him on my live oak tree.

Don't touch it! It's an asp caterpillar. Flannel moth. They are nice and cute and so fuzzy looking but underneath that hairdo are some dangerous urticating spines!

Whooooo doggie...a sting from that is like 50 on a scale of 1 to 10 !!! I got zapped by one a couple of years ago - it knocked me out and I slept for about 17 hours straight.

Yikes! Thats something I need to warn my kids about! They are always bringing me critters to look at and tell them what it is. I am sooooo glad I found this one first!!
