I thought this Chirita was 'Nimbus'. But all the pictures I've seen on the internet look different than my plant. Anyone have any idea what it could be if it's not 'Nimbus'?
It sure is a bloomin' fool!

I'm thinking it could be Vertigo which is maybe my favorite or at least top of the list chirita.

An old pic of mine in PlantFiles...

The leaves do look like vertigo, but the flowers aren't that dark.

That photo is dark...not that way in person. When mine blooms again, we can compare. Your plant is so pretty.

Ellerbe, NC(Zone 8a)

Yes, that would be great to compare. I think there's more than one in that pot. Guess I should divide it...........I'll add it to the list of things I need to do. LOL

Goldleaf, I'd like to meet up with you Saturday. I'm going to be wearing brown slacks and tan shirt with a multicolored vest. Just look for a short, fat, old woman with orange hair and that's me. LOL

Jasper, AR(Zone 7a)

Change that to blond hair---and it could be me ^_^

Frederick, MD(Zone 7a)

I don't know yet what I will wear but if I decide beforehand, I'll tell you. My hair has been every color...mostly dark. But, its been auburn before and the latest is blonde. Can't decide if I like it but it is what it is ^_^
I'm going to the sales room first and then to the show room to take pictures. First things first! I plan to bring along a few ziplocks for the possibilty of sharing leaves, whatever. I also need to look for a couple of gifts. God willing and the creek don't rise, I look forward to meeting you and Susan very much.

I really don't know what color my hair will be, I just made an appointment for the 11th. Depends on what she talks me into. LOL

Gold, That's how I got this Chirita......at the Ohio National convention Paul Kroll gave me leaves. Poor things were in the prop box forever. That's the only reason they survived.

I'm hoping to be in the sales room when they open. Can't wait! See ya there.

mrsbonnie, do you know where I might find a picture of Rachel?

(Zone 1)

Wow! Gorgeous Chirita! It looks like it could be Vertigo to me also: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=images+of+chirita+vertigo&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title

Sometimes different camera's capture the color a bit differently.

Lin, this is the Chirita I sent you leaves of as 'Nimbus'. LOL Now I'm not sure what it is. Just what you wanted right........a Noid.

(Zone 1)

LOL, yep, you sent me a leaf labeled Nimbus! It hasn't put up any little ears yet but whichever one it is, I love it!

Hey, I Love Noids! Doesn't matter to me if they have a name or not, I'm known for taking in strays! ^_^

Oh, I have never heard of Chirita Rachael ... had to go google: http://www.gesneriadsociety.org/conv2007/plants/bigpics/2007Class33.htm Beautiful foliage! I wonder what the bloom looks like?

Ellerbe, NC(Zone 8a)

Boy! Lin you're good! I googled and went to the gessie society and still couldn't find a picture. LOL Thanks!

Rachael is a gorgeous chirita, but I'm not sure that's what this plant is. It's foliage is wider and more rounded on the ends than Rachael.

It may be Nimbus, and I'm just not giving it something it needs. Maybe I should give it a shot of epsom salts and see if I can darken up the green part of the leaves. Think I'll go try that.

mrsbonnie...now why did you have to go and mention Rachel? I love it and hadn't heard of it before. Nice photo link, Lin. You gals are bad ^_^

(Zone 1)

Ooooh, it's so easy to be an enabler, isn't it? ^_^
