This little guy was perched on the inflo of this anthurium today. He was only about an inch long.

How cute! Looks like it's quite happy there. I would be. lol

Is that a tacca in the foreground?

Holy hoohahs Batman! That is the most beautifuly healthy one I have seen, so lush and full. Hats off to you.
I got my first tacca this spring, a black one, and it loved being under the big maple tree, but not so much sitting indoors. Looks a bit droopy even though it is watered enough. But then, I would rather be outdoors too.

BTW, what do you feed your tacca?

Gainesville, FL

I feed it small children who stray into my garden.

Sorry, I digress.

Actually I feed it 20-20-20 and 10-50-10 in a rotating kind of random schedule. It just now went out of bloom from the above photo. I can't use too much high nitrogen fertilizer in a closed environment or everything grows to gigantic proportions. Then I have to divide it and try to trade it, and I have a hard time getting trades.

I plant a lot of stuff outdoors as trials. I have three white bats outside in the yard. A week and a half ago before Halloween we had 2 nights of record cold, one night to 32 and one to 34. All 3 bats are fine, one is blooming. I will cover them for the 20's but I suspect they are going to be a-okay for the most part. The hard part of having them out was keeping them watered in summer.

I like to trade unusual plants for equally unusual plants, Plantgeek, so keep me in mind for the future.

ROFL! Let the culling of the herd begin. This is a why my fat-plants are so fat. Economical and organic too.

Thanks for the tip. I have found conflicting info about that, and I sure don't want to harm my baby. This is one of my favorite tropicals, such an interesting plant to be around.

Yes, they do look pitiful if they get dry, very droopy. Scared the humus right out of me when I came home one day and saw that sad sight, but it perked right back up after a good drink.

I will definitely keep you in mind for trading. Unusual plants are at the top of my list, as well as rare and endangered ones. I'm trying to keep what I can from going extinct, so if it is suitable for me to grow or pass along to someone else, I'm interested.
I don't always list some things or rareities for trade, but you can always send me a Dmail and we can talk.
BTW, I now have an alpina rugosa. I saw you thread and could not resist. Resistance was futile. Poor me.
