Buy quince trees?

Pelzer, SC(Zone 7b)

I'd like to buy some fruiting (as opposed to flowering) Quince trees, and maybe other natives like Paw Paw. I've found two vendors, but both have really lousy records in the Watchdog. Has anyone had any luck with mail-order Fruit Tree vendors? No-one local seems to carry anything even slightly unusual.
Thanks,

hi
I have a Quince I bought from Raintree Nursery. This is only its 2nd yr but it is 8 ft. tall and had a few blooms this spring none of which set fruit. Raintree has good ratings and I have bought numerous trees from them and been well satisfied.

Thanks RED, I'll check with them. Thanks!!

I, too, have a quince tree that I bought from Raintree. It has grown admirably. I think Trees of Antiquity and Bay Laurel Nurseries also have good quality trees and sell quinces. They are very easy to grow.

pajaritomt, they are easy to grow unless you live in a fireblight-prone area like I do. I have lost one of my three quinces and am spending a lot of time pruning out strikes. They seem to be worse than either pears or apples in my orchard.

What a shame! As far as I can tell they do nicely out here in the arid west.
