This past spring at the Tyler, Tx. RU Maggie & Ken shared a cutting of Forestville Double with me.....love her dainty look and wonderful light fragrance. Thanks you two for sharing this beauty with me.....I'll pass cuttings of her onto others next fall.

Thank you Sandy. I really am partial toward the white brugmansias that are highly scented....this is another white brugmansia I can't wait to grow in my moon garden once it's released by my inspector.

Oh so pretty Dollie, I love the white doubles.

inspector? Why ia there an inspector to release it? Just curious.

I will have to remember her and when it is time for cuttings maybe next year. ;o)

Thanks for sharing her picture and I haven't met a brug I did not like, But I do think the white is the most elegant. some of the doubles come a very close second it not in the same place with me.

Blessings,
Sandy

Sandy, Thank you for your comment. I meant to say my imported German double whites for my moon garden, the Forestville Double is from the states. I have the F.D. already growing in my moon garden & GH. I agree, white brugmansias are very elegant.

Thanks Donna & James.

Cannagirl.. Your plants are all so healthy looking!!
Do you grow Miss B Havin? It is a Beautiful Dbl/Trip white that hold blooms for several days and they don't brown.. She doesn't Love the heat but will tolerate it ..Once it cools down a bit she will put on a show.. This pic is from last yr.

My miss bhavin did okay in the heat here during the summer. Maybe it is the humidity factor. She set seedpods in August when it was still hot so she was blooming then :) I find she is a slow grower though.

I bought Miss B'Havin early this year. Somewhere along the line her top fell off or did what a few others did this summer. That is the small main stem turned yellow and dried up, but I noticed week before last that she's coming up out of the roots. It was very very hot and dry this summer. Humidity was often between 11 - 15%.

For double Whites it is hard to beat F.I. Spider.

Kylie, Thank you....I use The Recipe.....and from my horse pasture :) I didn't have much luck growing Miss B Havin. I'm growing out some seedlings with this cross and they seem to be doing great foliage-wise, no wilt from heat....so far, no blooms yet. Your photo is BEAUTIFUL of M.B.H.!!! She is one gorgeous brug! Wish she would grow well for me in this climate.

Angel_Tree, you maybe right about the high humidity factor. The humidity combined with the summer heat is just too much for some brugs to withstand.

Betty, I lost a lot of my brugs this summer with the same symptoms you described. I had about 4 to come back from the roots.

Ken, is F.I. Spider the abbreviation/name of Forrestville Double? If your referring to Forrestville Double I have to agree, she is one gorgeous, hardy brug.
