I have had mediocre luck with my daffys in the past but bleek told me to fertilize them 3 times a year which helped. However, I'm still not impressed.
I looked up daffodil culture on Google and the information said that to dig in fertilizer but then it said not to get fertilizer on the bulbs. How the heck do you do that?
I'm going to plant a bunch of them tomorrow, so I need help. I have turned over some Black Kow in the soil but was out of bone meal.
fetilizing daffodils
Aren't your daffadills planted down 4-6 inches? I think they just mean to clear any mulch and then put down the fertilizer, mix it into the soil a little and put the mulch back. How's it going?
I googled Daffodil culture and found that the fertilizer should be mixed with soil in the very bottom of the hole. Then, cover it up with some more soil, then plant the daffys.
I'm supposed to water this all in thoroughly. I think I need to do a little more watering tomorrow
I planted one terrace in the rock garden with as many as I needed and have one more terrace to plant. I hope for better results in the spring.
