I had all of my episcia's tagged . . . even the nameless one from Susan is tagged "unknown". That was the only nameless one I had . . . but either I lost it, or some sticky little fingers took it . . . but this one has no tag anymore!
I have gone thru emails and posts and trades (done and not done yet), did searches in the forums and dmails with "episcia" as the search word . . . I can't find who sent this to me, or what it's name is!
So. For those of you who know you sent me either cuttings or stolons . . . if this is one that you sent, please let me know who it is!
Thanks,
Syrumani
Need ID help on an Episcia
I have the same one and it produces a pink flower. I believe it might be pink panther.
Here is a picture of one from a website I foundhttp://www.almostedenplants.com/mall/pinkpantherepiscia.asp
And another website. http://www.robsviolet.com/episcia_pink_panther.htmThey all sure look more like mine though. Mine are kept in really brght light so maybe the markings will be different.
Dawns_Tropicals . . . that is such a coincidence! I was just looking thru the lists at http://www.streptocarpus-info.com/index.html, and had gotten to the P's, and I saw Pink Panther . . . and I remember someone giving me Pink Panther! I was just coming here to say so, and here you are, confirming it for me! Thanks!
Great!!
i was gonna say pink panther too, honest really,ok didnt have a clue
JIM
LOL you are so funny!
My first guess was to be Pink Panther also.............glad you got an answer.
Jim, I finally got all my leaves stuck............I will cry if I lose any..........I got my soil less mix on top of the perlite too wet.............so they are domed and I am hoping that perlite saves them from rotting..............I only look at them 4 times a day at least.
Looks like 'Teddy Bear' to me...
Here's an ID site that I have used over and over...

Maybe you already had it, but just in case you didn't.
:o)
Wow, you are good, WildRose, as you can see that the black is more dominant in her picture than Pink Panther.
I had it, but thanks anyway, VA_Wild_Rose! I still think - even after going back and forth between the P's & T's - that it's Pink Panther. One reason being . . . I have talked to people about trading Pink Panther, but not Teddy Bear. Another being that I think the leaf patterns match more to Pink Panther. But, I suppose the tie-breaking vote will happen when it blooms!!
Yes, that looks more like like the markings of her plant than mine. Does this one flower pink also?
Have you checked out these photo's of E. Pink Panther in PF: http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/180651/ Looks just like my former Pink Panther!
Here's a picture of Pink Panther from the Gesneriad Reference site: http://www.gesneriads.ca/episc24.htm
and their photo of Teddy Bear: http://www.gesneriads.ca/episci8.htm
Thanks for the links, plantladylin. I still think it is Pink Panther. The leaves on many of these Teddy Bear pix look more greenish on the edges to me, while the edges on mine are a brownish/bronze color. From the looks of it, though, the blooms are fairly similar, too, so it will be a tough tie-breaker.
You can ask Gail . . . I make a list of what I get in most trades (I think she called it something like "organized" - doesn't always feel that way, though!). And, once I find my butterfly notebook . . . pretty sure it was nabbed by little fingers . . . I'll check the lists.
I do NOT remember receiving a Teddy Bear. But to be fair, I don't exactly recall receiving Pink Panther . . . but I do know I have talked to people about it in the past.
I would vote for Mrs Fanny Hague ^_^
I got that from goldleaf and its identical
JIM
