Blooming in November

Seabrook, SC(Zone 8b)

Seems like yellow is the theme in my garden at the moment. My brugmansia is happy.

Your brug looks great. Ours got hit by the frosts the other day, lost most of its leaves, but I'm hoping the blooms still are OK. I think they are - it'll be warm this week so we'll find out for sure.

My peach brug is going crazy. There are 24 blooms on this happy plant. The blooms are a bit tattered from strong winds, but they still smell sweet!
The Mexican bird of Paradise to the left blooms all the time. The plant to the right is a cordyline.

Lost my brug blooms ( That were loaded and just about to open) to a heavy frost last week :(

I'm starting to think we lost ours too - they tried to open, but nothing doing so far. Now it's back up into the upper 70's *sigh*

Barb, how do you get that Mexican BOP to bloom? Is it in full sun? I have one and it has never bloomed although it faithfully returns each year. Mine only gets a good half day of sun and obviously it needs something else.

Ardesia,
It gets midday to almost evening sun. I do give that garden supplimental water since the brugs are there. I make sure it gets about an inch of water a week.
You said yours comes back - I have mine against the house, so it stays up all winter. Maybe that's it.
I just got seeds for a red one - can't wait to start them in the spring!

Thanks, I'll have to move mine to where it will get a little more TLC. Mine is the red one.
