Wanted: Gaillardia 'Tokajer'

Radford, VA(Zone 7a)

I'm looking for someone who'd like to trade 'Tokajer' Gaillardia.

Raleigh, NC

I've got 3 Tokajer, but too small to divide and though I ordered it last winter, Bluestone sent the wrong plant, so the replacements are just now in the ground. If you don't find any, drop me a dmail next summer and maybe I can divide it. Not sure if the seeds are true, but can always send you some to try once it blooms.

Radford, VA(Zone 7a)

ok, cool. Bluestone sent me the wrong mums once, but they let me keep the wrong ones and they're doing great! In fact, the right ones didn't come back after last winter.
I'll put this email aside then. Thank you!

They were very good about replacing them, though I was bummed because I lost a whole growing season. I ordered them in January or so, received them (or so I thought) in March??? (not sure), planted them out and watched them until about July, when I knew it wasn't the right cultivar. By then, too late for shipping for the summer, so they shipped them to me in September. This was the one plant I really wanted this year, too. Have you seen them in person (not a pic)? I have not, and can't wait for the first bloom!

Radford, VA(Zone 7a)

no, I haven't seen them-but I'm sold on the picture. I hope they really look like that!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I think depending on the soil and zone they look a bit different.
I have 2 seed heads if your interested. I sent one or 2 to bigcityal last summer, he can tell you if it germinated or not, I believe it did.

Thanks! I'll Dmail him.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Let me know if you would like them, I have 2 left.

Radford, VA(Zone 7a)

Yes-I'd love one! I notice there's a new person who has recently put that on their 'want' list. Perhaps you could give the other one to them . . . http://davesgarden.com/members/klstuart/

If you Dmail me, I'll give you my address. Please let me know if there is anything you'd like in trade.
