This is a really neat looking caterpillar but it is chowing down on my hibiscus that I brought into the garage for the winter. I have found two of them and lots of eaten leaves.
I'm sure you caterpillar experts can tell me if I should get rid of it or let it pupate.

Found on my hibiscus, what is it?
It appears to be a tussock moth caterpillar. Here is a bugfiles link.

Yeppers to the Tussock Moth caterpillar...those buggers will eat just about any plant. Grrrrr!

So you are saying I should get rid of them? :(
I hate to kill the poor little things.

I would take them to a wooded area, they eat almost anything. Save your flowers.
Oh, OK, I CAN do that.
Hopefully the hibiscus will still have leaves in the morning. LOL
It has a big bud too. :(

I went out to remove the cats. I could only find one. :(((((
I put the one in a dish and will take him out to the woods tomorrow. I gave him a hibiscus leaf to munch on.
I guess the other one will finish off the five foot hibiscus tonight.
