Look what we found in the chicken yard today! This is our first ever "real" hatch! Only 2, but that's ok, makes 'em even cuter!
You have to look close under her left side to see the black chick.
A surprise in the chicken yard!
Oh what a thrill you must have.... two cute for words, are baby animals just the best....LOL
thanks for sharing your joy your new arrivals.....
Janet
So cute! What is the father?
Ooooo. Studly.
Hi there Jesseree: I love surprises. Especially when they are as cute as this one is. Did you know that your hen was sitting? Pappa looks very proud of Himself. Congrats. Haystack.
Oh how perfect is that! Husband, wife and 2.0 kids.. LOL Congratulations! What a wonderful surprise!
Awww....so cute! I love to see the babies with their mom. All of mine are incubator babies so I'm their mom, and that's just not the same!
I just love suprise's especialy when their that cute.
I can not wait for surprises just hope it is not during the winter. All my little girls should start laying the end of November to the 1st week of December.
Wishin you a big susprise Luvs
lol also wish for it in the spring. I have well over 300 birds, doing the list now and so far 15 roos, have not even started on the younger ones yet they are still deciding their gender.
WOW!
yea what i say to
If I had 15 roosters Id shoot myself...how do you stand it?
Oh it is not bad really, I kinda like the crowing contest they have. One crows and then the rest try to out do the other's. Try having 300 birds running at you when you go out to be with them, it is like walking thru a maze....... And you have to call them by name if they have a name some do but not most of them. They are my babies, I love them and they love me and my shoes.
How fun would that be!!?? 300 birds? Oh man.. I love it..
I went out to sit with mine this afternoon to hide.. LOL They were pecking at my pockets.. jumpin on my head.. LOL I was lovin it..
Yea it is fun, I love it. I have to be careful at which pants i wear, IF they have flowers on them or bright colors I am really attacked.
I have 20 rooster and the little crows are like music in the morning spoken by a confessed chicken nut.
these are just the roo's I have documented not to count the ones coming up in age. I love them all. And I make them all be have. Like my grandson tells them hey now nanna does not allow any fighting so knock it off.
I have just 6 chickens, 4 hens and 2 roo's... I just became a chicken nut since I moved out here in May. I so love my roo's and they are truly my alarm clock. It is so awesome to wake up in the morning to the Roo's and then when I walk outside my horses whinney and then the roo's down the road start... After morning chores, I take my coffee outside for my 20 minutes of ME time... I am truly blessed with Mother Nature's song... Chickens, Horses and mother nature.
300 chickens, WOW that would be a syphoney ( I think I spelled that wrong but you get my meaning)...
I ment to add that maybe someday I will be lucky enough to have babies... OHHH I cant wait...
Just don't forget to stock up on your diapers before you get them LOL!!
What a darling picture! I hope I have that in my yard someday!
Awww so cute!! I just have two hens in the backyard pecking around!
At first i got two chicks (one white one brown) and raised them as they grew bigger. At first i had a great time looking after them until the white one began crowing!!!!! (in my area you cannot keep a rooster) So them we had to give poor old butch back to my agriculture teacher who will soon slaughter him. :( he was cool rooster
in memory of Butch
Chickengrl
ps wish i had chicks again
Hi Chickengrl - there is another DG member with chickens in Australia. His name is Josh and his DG name is Luckycharm, and he is in Londonderry if I remember right. Anyway, maybe he could hook you up with a couple of chicks sometime. I haven't seen him on here lately but he is on fairly often. I'd send you a couple of chicks but I doubt they'd make it!
Claire
very cute babies! gifts from God are always welcome!! Aren't they just little miracles? I think so.
