(Zone 7b)

I got a cutting of wysteria bad mistake i was training it to a bush and had no idea the roots were spreading out further in my yard.
I have dug and dug yet it will return i even built a fire on the stump of it and it still came back.

What can i do about this?

I feel your pain. There's a product called StumpOut that you spread on the truck after you cut it down again.

BrushBGone, Bayer Brush Killer, or other products with triclopyr as the primary ingredient, will also kill wisteria. Might take a couple rounds of spray if the wisteria is well-established: that's one tough and persistent vine!

Chop and burn to.

2 things you can try that have worked great for us. During the growing season:
1) drill holes in the wisteria, pour in round up, concentrated, full strength. This will require that it be big enough to drill, but it's worked the best on a plant we had that was about 10 inches in diameter, but would work on any diameter that is big enough to drill several holes in.
2) Place a cup w/ full strength concentrated roundup in it in the ground with a root in the cup so that the root will soak it up into the plant. You may need to dig in the ground to accomplish this. Before we did these two things, we had mistakenly tried to dig some up, but that cut some runners free to live on their own & when we poisened the large trunk, those runners escaped from being poisoned & still pop up, but the pop up is minimal & manageable & those we pluck up when we see them.
Good luck!
